Restoration / Repairs
Date of restoration and/or repairs :
Coming from somewhere, this cross was placed near the dolmen of La Pierre. From there, it was then transported to the presbytery at the beginning of the 20th century. A local resident found the upper part of the cross and installed it on a path on his property on a carved stone base.
Then, in the 1960s, the building was destroyed.
How it was made
Granite is ubiquitous here, it is everywhere in the fields
Each of the inventoried crosses was made by a different stonemason.
Cependant, il semble qu’ils aient utilisé the same model ou “patron”.
Each carver made his sculpture from some local granite stone known as a fieldstone.
