Restoration / Repairs

Date of restoration and/or repairs :

This cross was broken, abandoned in a corner, then reinstalled at the entrance to the village, this seemed to be the most suitable place.

The only part left of it was its head which lay in the ditch.

A foot was created for it.

How it was made

Granite is ubiquitous here, it is everywhere in the fields

Each of the inventoried crosses was made by a different stonemason.

Cependant, il semble qu’ils aient utilisé the same model ou “patron”.

Each carver made his sculpture from some local granite stone known as a fieldstone.
